The EV Charging OZEV Grant (previously known as the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme or EVHS) is a UK government initiative that provides financial support for installing electric vehicle (EV) charging points at homes and businesses. This grant is managed by the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV), a part of the UK government focused on accelerating the transition to zero-emission vehicles.

Key Points of the OZEV Grant
Home Charging Grant:
- This grant is available to homeowners, renters, and landlords for the installation of an EV charging point at a residential property.
- The grant can cover up to 75% of the cost of the installation, with a cap of £350 per installation.
- The home must have off-street parking, and the applicant must own or lease an eligible EV or have ordered one.
Workplace Charging Grant:
- Businesses, charities, and public sector organizations can also benefit from the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS), which provides financial support for the installation of EV charging points at workplaces.
- The grant covers 75% of the installation cost, up to a maximum of £350 per socket, with up to 40 sockets across all sites for each applicant.

Eligibility:
- For Homeowners/Renters: You must own, lease, or have ordered an eligible EV or a plug-in hybrid vehicle.
- For Landlords: The Electric Vehicle Chargepoint Grant for landlords helps cover the cost of installing charging points in rented properties or apartment blocks.
- For Businesses: The property must be a workplace and the installation must be for the use of employees, fleet vehicles, or both.
Installation Requirements:
- The installer must be OZEV-authorized, and the charging unit must be OZEV-approved, which Knox Power are
- You’ll need to ensure that your property is suitable for the installation, including having off-street parking and the necessary electrical infrastructure.

Process to Apply:
- For homeowners, you typically do not apply directly. Instead, the OZEV-authorized installer will claim the grant on your behalf and deduct the grant amount from the total cost.
- For businesses, an application must be submitted through the OZEV portal, and once approved, the grant is claimed after the installation is complete.
